The dim sum was fabulous and the sesame balls were my favorite.
For 7 for lunch box takeouts, the food is tasty, filling, and very cheap. There is nothing to complaint about for the price. Will always come here as long as I am around.

Please have the spring rolls!! They are so fresh and the best spring rolls you will ever have. Yummy dim sum too! I went with my mom and we also shared shrimp dumplings and bbq buns. Each was so different and better than any Chinese we've had! We asked a little lady at her shop where to come for lunch and she told us to come here: well-priced and authentic, without the regular tourists. The rest of the diners looked like they came regularly. The restaurant itself is simple but has nice decorations! I'm so happy that we came here!
I went there with my wife and cousins for Dim sum. The food was great, there was a lot of choices on the menu and they have very good prices. The place is popular and its located in Chinatown. I will definitely go back there next time and I recommend this place for sure. They accept Debit and cash only.
Third visit to Ruby Rouge and we were a little nervous going in because of the influx of negative reviews. I want to say I have no idea what these reviewers were talking about, we had a lovely time. We did dim sum this time, and the only issue was getting something we didn’t order and not getting one thing we tried to order. But that probably just comes down to a miscommunication with multiple language barriers! We didn’t love all the food but that’s what happens when you try something new. The delicious food was delicious as always, and we tried some new things that we loved! We ordered way too much, though! Leftovers for tomorrow!
We were so happy to find Ruby Rouge and great dim sum in Montreal! It’s on the 2nd floor up a main flight of stairs. We completely over-ate stuffing ourselves with all the expected goodies: har gow, chicken feet, sticky rice with lotus leaf, tofu skin, shu mai, shrimp/beef rice roll, fried pork dumpling, bbq pork bun, tripe, baby squid, beef short ribs, fried pork dumplings, hot sour soup, calamari, fried noodles (4 different kinds), mixed vegetables. The waiters were terrific and ensured we had lots of tea and ice water. Dim sum operates differently here than NYC. In NYC, it’s a blood sport to get a table on a weekend – they open around 9am and if you don’t arrive by 10-10:30am, you’re going to be waiting an hour. So we arrived at 10:07am discovering that Ruby Rouge doesn’t even open until 10:30am with the carts starting at 10:45am. They were very gracious and allowed us to enter and sit at a table. Same carts being pushed around with tasty treats and a main table with a few more offerings. Excellent and comparable dishes to our favorite NYC dim sum. The sesame balls had different inside filling than we are used to. We did not find taro cake or the skinny crispy shrimp egg rolls – can’t win them all. We also noticed a cart with what looked like churros – we didn’t try them – maybe next time. We will definitely be back!
One of the best spots in Chinatown for affordable and delicious food! Their char siu with rice is always fresh and flavorful. Back in the day, it used to be just 4.50–5 a plate, and even though it’s now 7, it’s still absolutely worth it. I’ve been coming here since my childhood, and the quality has never changed. If you’re looking for a great, budget-friendly meal in Chinatown, this is the place to go
